PORTSMOUTH, NEW HAMPSHIRE – Despite cries from many of his supporters to continue his campaign to become the president of the United States, Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders officially threw in the towel and publicly endorsed presumptive Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton today.
Sanders surprised many political pundits by winning approximately 13 million votes, 22 states and raising $200 million during his run for president.
His unexpected success engendered passionate supporters who became champions of his radical proposals to empower America’s middle class.
Sanders’ endorsement of Clinton brought an end of an intense rivalry between the two candidates in an attempt to rally the Democratic party to defeat the presumptive Republican candidate, Donald Trump.
